I've been looking at Surge XT, which seems like it could be pretty amazing for FM. The one thing I haven't been able to work out is how to get the ratio below 1. It looks like it isn't possible, but I'm not sure if I'm missing some trick I could try.

When using FM3 as an Oscillator, you can enter an Osc1 M1 Ratio with the slider or manually by right clicking on the ratio and editing the value, which can be below 1. Did you mean this?

Ahhh, thanks shorty, I assumed FM3 would be the same as FM2.

You need to right-click then Extend range, then you have ratios from 1/32 to 32/1 expressed as fractions. Only in FM3, because FM2 is for "nice" FM where you only get to use integer ratios.
