Awww. People can argue the toss all they want, but Sabbath basically invented the METEL. Huge influence.

R.I.P., those early Sabbath albums left a huge footprint. Lean music and just essential for the genre.

I just saw the news and I'm in tears. I knew this day would come if I didn't pass first but Ozzy and Black Sabbath had such a profound influence on my early guitar based music that I will never forget them. I and the world of Heavy Metal owe them a debt that can not be repaid.
I'm so glad he had the chance to take the stage again to bask in the adoration of his loving fans one more time.
His episodes on TV with his family on the subject of the paranormal were always special and a cherished favorite here as well.
Rest in Peace Ozzy, you will always be loved.

We knew it was coming but still a shock. Such a legacy. He had a huge impact on music in general, the reach of his influence is enormous. My dad listened to Black Sabbath and that was one of my first experiences with heavy music. From then on I was hooked.
I saw Ozzy play Ozzfest a few times in the late '90s and early '00s, even saw the original Black Sabbath line up in 1999 and 2001. I feel very lucky, as those were formative experiences for me as a teenager.

Ozzy, Prince of Darkness, many thought you belong to hell. I think they're wrong.

Sad news.
I really liked the two albums he made with Mr. Rhoads (a hugely talented guitarist), and I have the live Tribute as well. Now they can rock again.
