Sonnox Soften: New compression/mastering tool that's free for Focusrite and Novation customers

Free until September 16. Unfortunately, none of my DAWs are recognizing it after authorizing it, and I use Windows 11. Trying to open it crashed Cubase LE.

When installing, there's a checkbox that says you can't transfer a license without their permission.

Working on Win 10 and 11 in Ableton Live. Guess I can try it with Cubase on my Win 10 machine, though it's Cubase 10.5 so my findings may not be representative.

It did take a LONG time to scan for the first time on my Windows 10 machine as ilok plugins occasionally do. Sometimes they'll open a dialog and let you paste your activation code right there. Sometimes they just stall out the VST scan for several minutes.

iLok plugins are just slow on first scan, especially on Windows. Once they’re scanned and activated, it usually gets smoother. Make sure your iLok License Manager is updated and try narrowing the plugin folders if it keeps stalling

Is this just another resonance suppression tool, albeit a very simple, very limited one?

Sonnox is having a sale now, its selling all plugins for like 15 - 20 bucks and I bought the Claro eq which is amazing actually. Any others I should pick up ?

i think their Dynamics plug-in is excellent. The Limiter is nice. Inflator is a classic.

This plugin regularly disconnects, if you use it, be prepared for all instances to stop. All you have to do is stop all your work, and restart your DAW, and wait for the next time it disconnects again. This plugin is not ready for prime time. This post marks the occasion where it crashed my session entirely when I clicked it to make an adjustment, Reaper is frozen and I hope auto save captured my just made edits. I would avoid this product.

Works for me. Actually I have it on mixbuses (very low amounts) on all my projects. It's quite transparent, I can hear the delta in Reaper and I can't hear any artifacts added.
