Good morning Folks:

You can now download the old Pro-Sounds Genusis sound set for Vanguard for free (no, I did not spell "Genesis" wrong...it's play a on my last name, "Genus") from my Substack here:

I don't own the newly released and updated version of Vanguard (Vanguard2), so I can't be sure if this set works on that version. I'd appreciate it if someone who does own it would let me know. [Update: Teksonsik tells me they seem to work in Vanguard2, albeit without category tags. I just bought the new version, so I'll get around to updating this old set with tags eventually.]

Enjoy!

Hi Frank! Yes the .fxp files work perfectly so far in Vanguard 2. I just renamed and dropped the .fxp folder into Vanguard 2's preset folder and they show up just fine in the new browser.

They of course don't have V2's category tags but you've pre-tagged the preset names so they are all very well organized.

I haven't tried all the presets yet but the ATM and LED sounds are all very usable and modern sounding.

Thanks for setting these patches free! :tu:

Marc! That's fantastic! Please let me know once you've had an opportunity to go through them all. I'll have to pick up Vanguard2 one of these days and update the set with tags, etc.

Enjoy!

Ok will do. I highly recommend Vanguard 2 if one likes version 1. I can't remember off hand if there were any sound design enhancements but just the new larger and customizable GUI was worth the upgrade for me.

I notice that if I use V2's "Import Bank" feature on your .fxb it does set categories for some of the presets but not others. I'm not sure what's going on there but I'm going to work with V2 today and see if I can figure it out:

Weird. Maybe it's reading the prefixes (i.e., ARP, BAS, etc.)?

I don't know because it failed to tag the LED patches and there is a category tag for those "LD", V2 uses a two letter prefix and there are 26 different ones to choose from although oddly enough there doesn't seem to be one for Keys. I notice it removed the pre-tags in the names in the patches it did properly categorize.

It must be some kind of A.I. or machine learning that examines the patches and attempts to give them the correct category and then assign them attributes which is what the colored dots are. Odd that it would strip out the patch name pre-tags though.

Anyway I've gone through all the patches and they all work fine and there some real gems in there. I no longer have Vanguard 1 installed so can't say if they all converted 100% accurately.

Anyone who owns Vanguard should definitely grab this bank. :tu:

Thanks, Marc!

I just bought v.2, so I'll take some time one of these days to make sure they're categorized properly. I played through a few of them, and they sound the way I remember them sounding on v.1.
