NI Ashlight. Has anyone figured out how to modulate this?

It seems no one on Youtube has cracked the code either.
The default modulation and any new mod you assign seems to be baked into it - so you cant get a sense of what anything is doing.
Is it intended to be that way? I mean, what is the point in dragging in your own samples if that is the case. Is there a way to reset parameters in the matrix?
