For those who frequently use RBass to enhance bass for small speaker systems:
when dialing it in, do you do so on your studio monitors or specifically monitor it on actual small/tiny speakers during the process?

I generally check both. I have some bluetube speakers and crappy headphones around for this kind of thing, but I also don't want to make it sound bad on speakers with good bass extension so I check both. Then I put the mix on my phone and check the car.

Do you mean you switch back and forth between studio and bluetooth speakers WHILE tweaking RBass?

I set it with my big monitors and then check it with something small. You can't set it up with small speakers. It would be impossible to know how much sub-bass you are adding. Typically, for kick (real kick) I set it to 55HZ. The gain ends up being somewhere around -14 most of the time. But this would vary greatly depending on how the kick was recorded.

Yup. I mostly use rbass for a bit of help making bass translate to small speakers. Checking on those small speakers while I set it is very helpful.stippenstoh wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 9:40 pm Do you mean you switch back and forth between studio and bluetooth speakers WHILE tweaking RBass?
