Verrucas is about those nasty warts: relentless, unavoidable, omnipresent. The song was inspired by an article in one of those magazines, living on a side table, only read when procrastinating. A song about this fact of life was simply unavoidable. However, it was hard, incredibly hard: in 1996 writing started, and it took us 25 years to finalize the piece. But there it was, a song about warts, until then missing in our cultural heritage.

Recently we took up the challenge to improve the song. Here, we proudly present the return of the warts: VERRUCAS, THE ENHANCED VERSION.

Does any cultural heritage need a song about warts? Not sure!

Will a song about Verrucas drag in the passing listener? Not sure!

BUT...

Anyone reading my 10 cents worth - HAVE A BLOODY LISTEN! This band can play!

As with your other songs I've listened to over the years...

Great overall groove / lovely melodic hooks / well crafted and produced / fantastic performance.

Added bonus - this one also made me laugh and twitch at the same time - yep I've brought up kids and know the routine!

Inspiration can come from anywhere, even the base of your foot, although I was slightly concerned by the "enhanced version"

I thought that the style was more reminiscent of some of Zappa's lighter '80s moments than the Canterbury scene, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it.

Good work :)

A song about warts? "Why not?" the listener asks, after all, there are warts.
Okay, the content and the topic do take some getting used to.

But now to the song itself: Beautiful, energetic rock song: haunting vocals
and a slightly jazzy guitar solo. Lots of dynamic elements, beautifully composed.
It's fun to listen to, a great song! :tu:

I think a wart is starting grow in the crease of my pointer finger. Are they truly unavoidable? I've covered it with electrical tape hoping to stop its growth.

Great performances. Impressive singing. Energetic solos. Enjoyed!
