Morphit. Where to place the headphone correction software in the chain?

Hi. I have Morphit as the last plugin on the master chain. But now I'm thinking, maybe I need to put that on every track and be first in the chain? I mean, if you put EQ on the master chain either before or after the Morphit, the EQ analyzer will show different results. And you would do different decisions, if not doing adjustments entirely by the ear. So I'm not sure how to do this right...
Studio One (I don't use it anymore) has a neat features - MixFx, where inserting one effect will affect all channels at once with minimum CPU load. But AFAIK, you can insert only predefined plugins.
P.S: I'm might be wrong though, because during the mixdown, the correction software must be removed anyway. And if I do frequency adjustments based on equalizer after the correction software, then everything will be wrong afterwards. This makes me to conclude, that frequency adjustments (pre correction software) can be done right ONLY by ear, rather than watching the frequency analyzer curves... Or not. Maybe the opposite? Maybe those pre correction software eq curves are the only true ones, though they don't follow to what you hear after the Morphit.

Hey
Not per track.
There’s a workflow involving a bus. The bus won't affect the mixdown.
In Cubase it's even better you can assign a plugin on the monitor. It will be loaded on every single project.
RealPhones shut down automatically the correction on the mixdown

Yeah, I just got Cubase and Morphit sits in the control room. I saw some respected Cubase YT blogger and he has an EQ sitting after the Correction Software. I'm finding this weird.Gam456 wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 7:04 am Hey

Use only on the master buss, at the very end. Mix with it enabled. Mix down with it disabled

Last in the chain, if you use a Mac, consider putting it on your system output using the standalone app or something like SoundSource. I have been doing that for years and never have to bypass it when using headphones.

Correction plugins should be always at the end, because it‘s just to correct your monitoring setup.
If you use sophisticated DAWs like Cubase or Reaper and have multiple channels on your audio interface , you can even setup different monitoring channels, e.g. you could route an unafffected master stereo pair to your studio monitors and a different pair with the correction plugin for your headphones.
