LIQUIFI+IGNITA are the two new ensembles just released by Blinksonic for the full version of Reaktor 6. LIQUIFI is an FFT scrambler effect, and IGNITA is a simplified hybrid version of their AETONZ° instrument, that includes a granular synthesis engine without additional effects. Price is 49 Euros. I haven't tried them yet, but here are some partial, descriptive quotes taken directly from their website at https://www.blinksonic.com/portfolio/liquifiignita/

LIQUIFI -
"The device deconstructs and captures the entire “fog” of frequencies, intensity, and components of an audio signal using an FFT algorithm. This data is used to drive a sinebank that resynthesizes the sound.

This spectral reassignment process allows for the application of sound texture transformation effects, such as spectral granulation, while preserving the characteristics of the original signal. This process enables harmonic smoothing or robotization effects.

Furthermore, this frequency data is then “quantized” according to a chosen scale from 24 models. This acts as a powerful polyphonic autotune, providing a very contemporary sound design for harmonically doubling your sound sources.

A TOOL FOCUSED ON REAL-TIME USE

What makes LIQUIFI particularly interesting is the palette of modulations and automations assigned to numerous parameters, which enhances the playability of the device. A virtual trackpad allows you to control the resynthesized frequencies through short sequence of modulation and bring variations of quantized notes based on the selected scale.

In addition, a virtual keyboard allows you to trigger and record “punch-in effect” events to launch processes like quantized pitch-shifting, filtering, sound smoothing effects, or scale changes.

The audio signal is animated and re-contextualized in this often “liquid” blend, mixing spectral processing, animated reverb, and digital degradation (low bit rate). LIQUIFI can thus make any sound source “sing”: drums, acoustic instrument loops, vocals, synth pads, or even noise.

The use of LIQUIFI is designed to be “real-time friendly” and to create “living” and dynamic sound environments, offering maximum expressiveness for sound design and live performance (despite the slight latency imposed by an FFT algorithm).

IGNITA -
What makes IGNITA a powerful and original sound design tool is its “lottery of sounds” workflow. It leverages its sample launching system ( a random sample on each gate events) and a virtual XY pad, which allows you to navigate through 208 snapshots, giving you a powerful way to instantly switch between unique presets in a single sequence. This makes the entire process one of pure serendipity.

Using two merged sampler signals, the engine employs a unique process that rearranges embedded classic analog, digital, and acoustic tones.

It generates evolving keyboard layouts, subliminal background textures, and back-layer sounds, producing fascinating soundscapes and experimental timbres.

The sound is in a constant state of flux and is always moving, but the harmony remains still. This dynamic process ensures that every result is different, ranging from weird and unexpected to rich and atmospheric…

In short, it seems alive!

Coupled with LIQUIFI in this package, the combo forms a truly modern synthesis design station.

This combined workflow is a direct dedication to “collage” musics such as GLITCH electronica, and more precisely to the intricate sonic tapestries found in Botanica, Petalcore, Vaporwave, and Hyperpop subgenres.

As a contemporary exploration on spectral synthesis, it’s perfect for laying down a base of inspiration or bringing a fresh, unconventional voice to your compositions."
