Appears to be an Oberheim Two Voice-inspired synth. I haven’t seen a price yet, but I’m guessing it won’t be cheap. But, hey, a UDO synth with a screen!

Interesting. Likewise, I suspect the price will be exorbitant. Especially when you consider the Behringer unit. It has enough differences to be able to appeal to a different audience I guess - the keyboard obvs being the main one. TBH if it's anything like their other synths pricewise, then I won't waste even seconds considering it, and I think they are way over-priced for what they are. But ya never know, they may have become a little more realistic, though I doubt it. Charging luxury prices doesn't automatically make it a luxury synth. E.g. I really like the idea of their Super6 and iterations - I'm a huge fan of the old Jupiter 6, but that binaural stereo gimmick thing they have is just fluff & doesn't justify silly prices. I saw one in NZ that was going for $6k or thereabouts - ridiculous.

I can see this being at least $5k here. TBH I'm not much of an Obie fanboi anyway, so I'm not it's target audience. But it's entirely believable that when the Behringer Jupiter8 iteration comes out it might even be 16 voice, polyAT and it will prolly be between $2-2.5k here. Kinda puts a 2-voice emu into perspective...

So, about $3,500 USD? I expected higher tbh. Based on what I heard in that demo, I prefer the smoother sound of my Super 6, but that’s a pretty cool synth!

Are UOO synths made in the UK?

Yes, based in Bristol.
Thanks.

Well I guess that’s one reason why they might cost more than some synths made elsewhere (not directed specifically to cryophonik).

Yeah, I'd say that UDO still falls in the "boutique" synth category.

More of the kind of synth sounds I’m interested in than the Super 6/8, Gemini.

I've watched all the videos from Bristonica and was disappointed. The single patch in the official release video sounded great, but everything George demo'd sounded poor.

The setup mix to record the synth might have been less than ideal, but UDO should at least have programmed/shared some bread and butter presets to give a better idea on the general tone and filter. I need to hear more before I can decide whether to start saving.

2600 squids - just converted that to over $6000. There'll be at least 500 on top of that for the usual NZ price gouge probably more, making it $6.5k minimum. Sorry, but that's up there right at the top. Maybe there's stuff under the hood that's going to change the synth world, it would have to to even approach being worth it. It's off my radar for sure. Can't justify $7k for what seems to be effectively an Obie 4 voice dressed up in fancy stereo. Could prolly buy a real Obie for that price. :uhuhuh:

Finally we get to hear it properly! Bristonica audio quality did DMNO no favours.

Already got that one sound that was played over and over covered with Zebra CM and Zebra Legacy.
It does sounds juicy and good but not worth the high price when i can have those sounds for free or with the $99 Zebra Legacy in my Daw.

Yeah, this vid is MUCH better. :phones: It does sound pretty damn good, but I won’t be selling my Super 6 (although I wish it had that screen!)
