Sound Particles has released GrainDust, a new spatial audio-focused multi-layer granular Synthesizer plugin.

A pretty impressive granular synth, but also with a high price tag of 340€+ after the intro sale.

Maybe we will get a GrainDust Stereo or Mini version, like they did with SkyDust. :)

Looks awesome but price is absurd

I think if anything above stereo isn't a requirement you would get far more bang for your buck with Glitch Machine's Palindrome. Same up-to 4 sources, probably even more modulation options and only $89

awesome price! need to get it asap as it seems to be higher class than other granular synths cause the price is high it has to be better? :D

Elton John will love this synth.

I didn't see on quick look, but is it offering more controls than the typical granular synths? Any idea how much it compares to Crusher-X in depth of what one can do, number of parameters?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

But it spatial, so that means it probably uses way more cpu than your typical granular synths.
At least that’s my experience with their stuff.

As grain synths go it's pretty much standard fare.

Serum 2, Phase Plant, Falcon, Avenger etc. can all do the same stuff as well as having all the other synthesis and effects options.

The multichannel support is about the only relatively unique thing.

It's nowhere near as deep as Crusher-X.

Same old thing, only pricier.

The best part is that they included an uninstaller :hihi:

:) :hihi:

Seems like a pretty silly price for features that are available in almost any granular synth.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

I like SkyDust, it sounds good but look at this screenshot. I'm interested in what folks think.

"Use longer sentences", "avoid repetition", "uncommon words"

What does that even mean? Even if I liked GrainDust, why would I give them any more money when I have no idea how to access my existing paid software, ha.

I sent them an email and the conversation is basically:

"We are just trying to make your account more secure"

"But I can't access it because you won't tell me what your actual password policy is so I'm taking random stabs in the dark. I mean, this is more restrictive than my bank."

"See, hehe, it's more secure."
