start new composition with only one single chord

You can set up the default composition for "New Composition".
First click on Settings / Miscellaneous and look for the "New Composition" section (or type "new" into the search field).
Set "Load 'default.rcCOMP' for New Composition" to YES.
Set up the required default composition, then click on the File menu and press "Save as default for New Composition".
Next time you start a new composition, your setup will be used.
