not a lot of changes to Melodyne over the last few years. It might just be a mature product, DOes anyone know if they are actively developing Melodyne?

Post

Not sure of any development, but it does seem to be a mature product as I am happy with what it does
I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

What are you missing actually?

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. Hopefully, they're working with Apple to sort out the ARA mess. Other than that, it's a pretty mature product and I'm happy with it where it is, as far as features go. I would guess that the next big improvements will be in the detection and pitch correction algorithms using AI.

I think the Windows 98 GUI could do with a refresh.

I would like to see automation of features like the equaliser ie make Melodyne more like an interactive sound processor

i'd like to see improved algorithms without trying to incorporate a lot of junk which doesn't add value or force me to connect to the internet to use "AI"...

It's great software which doesn't lack anything I need. So I just hope they don't screw it up

I'd personally rather they didn't do too much. I'm sure that the core algorithms can all be improved, fine tuned, made more CPU efficient.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

My guess is, they will jump on the bandwagon and we'll see a Melodyne with AI voice replacement, so you can sing into it as yourself and have it pop out Taylor Swift or whoever.

But that goes completely against what ARA is, doesn't it? Given how ARA is still not implemented in major DAWs (Ableton, FL Studio, Bitwig), I'd rather them pushing the development of the plugin format before any changes to Melodyne.

I have no idea what ARA biases toward and away from. But I am thinking now is the time to get rid of my copy of Melodyne Studio. I dont use it for standard purposes but instead for exploring the errors it throws up as in some way a model of the exaggerated claims of the IT industry. But I have been doing that for a very long time and have exhausted my interest.
