Windows midi services is not yet functional on windows 25h2. If you choose to become a windows insider on the canary channel then you can have it working with multiclient midi and run various midi devices at the same time.magicmusic wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 12:16 pm I have several midi devices xkey and akai mpk 225. I know that they change midi, because i notice when uad console is start midi devices are block. I report this UAD and since yesterday update working console is here. all in 25h2 work at least same as 24h2 for me now
if you are in windows beta test, can you ask when they release this shared midi for the 25h2 for all users without windows insider ?

i use asio for all, but i never get 2 sound devices working without crackle. I think the problem is that every sounddevice have its own clock generator. so they differ over time and get crackle. to fix that USB need be able to send a master clock that all devices are sync. or if you have a optical or coax spdif in and out you must connect both decices with a spdif cable and switch 1 device to use master clock.

I was on the beta until a couple of weeks ago, and midi services were working great. As a test I opened a number of DAWs at the same time and they were all responsive. I also had more than one audio interface working at the same time with Youtube playing. I then went back to ordinary 25h2 and have not been able to get Midi Services working on it.magicmusic wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 1:54 pmI get a update symbol with a blue circle on right side that was always show. so i have the final 25h2 version and in microsoft featurelist stand shared midi workdellboy wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 1:05 pmWindows midi services is not yet functional on windows 25h2. I just did a video about the topic:
Note the pinned comment of Pete Brown (Psychlist1972) from Microsoft below the video:
"Windows MIDI Services is not yet fully implemented in 25h2. Installing the SDK Runtime and Tools will get you just the tools, but it will not get you a current MIDI Service, or the code which routes MIDI 1.0 apps and MIDI 1.0 devices through the service. As a result, there's no multi-client in 25h2. These bits only work on a Windows Insider Canary release, not retail 25h2."
So, we need a bit more patience...

Wow besides MIDI 2.0, native ASIO and aggregate support would be huge...one of the things that keeps me on Mac for production is the native OS support for low latency audio and aggregate audio devices that always "just works".
