Hi!

I'm thinking to buy also a second audio interface, because I will be using 2 interfaces to be able to record screen videos. So yeah, I'll use one interface for Reason 13 and the other to record PC sounds. This will allow me to perform in the video in the realtime.

So I'm thinking to buy either:

Steinberg UR22C: https://www.thomann.de/fi/steinberg_ur22c.htm

or a

Audient iD14 MKII: https://www.thomann.de/fi/audient_id14_mkii.htm

I think both will do the same thing so probably I'd just want an one with the better mic pres.
Whaddya think?

If you didn't already, check Julian Krause's YT channel; he reviewed both interfaces at some point and the winner is pretty obvious.

I'm assuming you mean ID4? Their ID14 is 10-in/6-out which makes comparing it with a UR22C oranges/apples.

I use the Steiny one. UR22C has been solid as a rock for years, never had any problem whatsoever with it. It's built like a tank and does what it does cleanly. Extremely reliable Yamaha driver too. Functions on both look very similar, so if it boils down to mic pres...unfortunately I only very occasionally use them for voice, never instruments so I'm no connoiseur, but the Steinberg D Pres have a good rep. I remember some Sound on Sound review praising them highly. TBH I know nothing about the ID4 pres, sorry.

Might not be important for you but a quick check shows - UR22C can do up to 32bit/192kHz, ID4 is 24/96 despite some marketing bullshit saying 32 bit. And UR22C has MIDI as well as USB, ID4 has no MIDI.

Even though I am a Cubendo user, I had a similarish (I was comparing an ID24 to several others including SB's closest equivalent) choice a few years ago, I went with Audient (better mics, better specs and most importantly for me much better latency). And would do it again and again.

Thanks e@rs and also kritikon and zvenx!
So based on the comparison pics I should go with the Audient. I won't be needing midi ports as my only midi I need is through an USB i.e. a midi-keyboard. If latency is also smaller that is a big plus. Also my current intarface Mackie Onyx 2x2 Producer has midi in and out too if I'll never need it. Cheers!
