Hi everyone,
I’m a music-lover and hobby developer who spends time both producing/tracking and building web tools. I recently launched a site called TapBPM Hub (https://tapbpmhub.com/
) and I wanted to share it here because I thought it might be useful to this community — and I’d greatly value your feedback and suggestions.
Why I built this
When working with loops, live instruments, or setting up a DAW session it struck me how often I needed to:
quickly figure out the BPM of a sample or loop,
keep a steady click/metronome going to train my timing or record with tight rhythm,
convert between BPM and milliseconds (for delays etc.),
or switch between note-values, tempo and timing in an easy tool.
There are plugins and apps that do parts of this, but I wanted something instantly accessible in a browser: open the website, start tapping or practicing, no install required.
What the site currently offers (v1.0)
A quick “tap a key or spacebar” to get an estimated BPM for any tempo you feel.
An online metronome: set your BPM and start practising with a click.
A time/beat conversion tool: e.g., convert BPM ↔ milliseconds, note lengths ↔ tempo.
A clean, minimal UI without registration required.
Intended users and workflows
Producers/engineers: who want to quickly identify the tempo of a loop, match delay tempo, sync external gear or samples.
Musicians/performers: who want a portable metronome to train timing, groove, or play along.
Anyone working with rhythm and timing who wants a browser-accessible tool rather than entirely a plugin.
Here’s where you can help!
Since I built this as a “side project” I’m keen to know how it fits your workflow. I’d appreciate answers to any of the following, or just general thoughts:
In your production or tracking sessions, how important is a “quick BPM tap / find” tool compared to a full-featured plugin? Which do you use more/less?
Which additional timing/rhythm tools would you really like to see in this site? (For example: subdivisions, tempo drift detection, loop BPM scanning, mobile timing training, etc.)
On user-experience: opening the tool and starting within seconds was a key goal. Did you notice any friction (mobile vs desktop, language, layout, speed)?
For interface / language / mobile usage: any feature or language support you feel is missing or could be improved?
If you’d like to try it now
Just go to https://tapbpmhub.com/
and pick one tool (e.g., the “Tap BPM” or the “Metronome”) and see how it feels in your usual workflow. If you’ve got 5-10 minutes and are willing, I’d love a short comment here or even PM with what worked & what didn’t.
Bonus for members here
If you’re willing to be part of early feedback/testing, drop me a PM or reply here with your email and I’ll add you to a list of “early users” who will get first-look at any new feature I add. No obligations, no cost — just your insights.
Thanks a lot for your time. I hope this tool might help some of you in your workflow — and thanks in advance for any feedback you throw my way. It really helps.
