My brother passed away in 2015, and another one of my famiy sent me what he had received from his Seattle concert experience today.
He was able to sit backstage with others and meet Vai, and even play on one of his guitars. He told me later that he played the guitar part of a Rush song called The Trees (right before the solo part). I really like Rush (and Vai!), so that always sticks with me when I think of him.

My brother (in the photos) had bought a score of a song from Steve Vai’s Flex-able many years ago. He had brought it to Berklee music college when he attended the college over there in the late 1980s. We were living in Seattle until he moved there.
Anyway, one day he saw Mr. Vai in a bookstore walking around. He ran back to his dorm and grabbed the score of the song, ran back to the store and asked Mr. Vai to autograph it.
Fast forward to that EVO Experience concert: he brought that score with him again and asked him to autograph it yet again. It’s pretty cool to have that in my possession now along with the other goodies he got from that concert.
