The original is very good. If it works for you depends on what type of music you are making, but for 'real instruments' and vocals it can be great, you get a convincing real space.
It can work for electronic, but it depends on what you're after really.
fwiw, all the UAD reverbs are excellent.

Good to know - thanks leras! Looks like I can get OWS Deluxe and Sound City Studios in the 2 for $99 in the bundle sale. For that price, I'm tempted, but need to look into these a bit more._leras wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 4:19 am The original is very good. I'd suggest giving them a demo, and also the two UAD chamber reverbs.cryophonik wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 9:21 pm Good to know - thanks leras! They can all give some pretty unique ambience and textures. Only you know if it's something that'll work for your music.

I guess what clicks with you is getting the native version at your disposal.bill45 wrote: Sat Nov 15, 2025 8:01 pm IS the upgrade that much better than V1
Nevermind, I am getting it. V1 was not native
Other than that V2 frankly is another league vs V1 if you`re after embedding studio ambiance(s) that is.
Another interesting aspect to consider:
after having had test runs with latest UA Connect, the UAD natives appear to be symlink compatible now.

Ocean Way Studios Deluxe is identical to Sound City Studios in design and operation. However, I find the sound and results of Ocean Way to be superior to Sound City just about every time.
That actually should not be too surprising, in context. The actual Ocean Way/United Studios is a world class facility with some of the best sounding rooms anywhere on the planet. It’s the American Abbey Road.
Sound City, on the other hand has always been a budget studio, with a reputation for being a dump. A lot of good albums have come out of it, but traditionally, it was a studio that bands went to because their label didn’t want to put much money into them, or they were self-financing.
So it makes sense that Ocean Way Studios Deluxe just plain sounds better than Sound City Studios, if UAD did a proper job of authentically capturing these studios.

Testing them side by side I preferred Sound City for re-amping guitar.

I haven’t done any guitar revamping with either, but for simulating a drum room mic, I’m picking OWS Studio A about 9 times out of 10.
I also prefer the OWS chambers to Sound City’s.
