Hello, I have a quetion regarding upgrading my eRoms to SampleTank 2XL. I currently own...Symphony Strings, Piano Collection, Bass Collection, Guitar Collection, Acoustic Drums. (Obviously, I'm doing my part to keep you guys in business.) I also own Sonic Synth 1 and yes I did receive the eMail notice regarding the $199 price for the upgrade.
What can I do about the eRoms that currently own and making them compatible with SampleTank 2XL? If their is money that I need to send to upgrade, that is fine. I'm just not sure of what path to take and what the cost will be. Thanks!
Paul

Squids et al have made an update disk that fixes the SS1 sounds that didn't work well in ST 2 as well as the handful of sounds in the various eRoms that didn't play nice with ST 2. There is a thread here somewhere that outline which sounds are affected but I can't find it right now.Mahler wrote: What can I do about the eRoms that currently own and making them compatible with SampleTank 2XL?
In any event, contact esoundz and I am sure they can help.

Thanks Dan for getting back to me and posting the, "topic" regarding my question. But, I have a new question...I haven't received the eRom update. Am I to understand that I have to buy something else to get the updated disc? I did purchase (although about a year ago) Sonic Synth 1, SampleTank 2 XL and all of the above mentioned eRoms. Just looking for a little light in the darkness.
Again I thank you and hope that you can turn on a little light for me.

It's my understanding that people who have SS1 and ST2 get the update automatically if they purchased it through esoundz. This is simply because esoundz would only know you have it if you are one of there customers. If this is the case send them an email and let them know you haven't received it.
If you didn't order through esoundz I am "sure" they will still give you the update. The "next order" deal was to save on shipping, I believe. In any event, if you contact esoundz I am sure they will work something out to your satisfaction. They are great people who not only put out wonderful products but also provide outstanding customer service.

There are two options for updates to the eROMS. One is a free download of the new "child patches" we did in ST2 for it. That will be available by next week or sooner from www.esoundz.com in the member's area. Any esoundz member can download them BUT you have to own the eROM they associate with to be able to use them (otherwise they won't show up in your ST2 browser). You also, of course, have to have some form of ST2 (le, L or XL).
So, you don't HAVE to buy anything to get most of the update as long as you already have ST2 (because otherwise... how are you going to play the new sounds???). So, anyone who DOESN'T have ST2 but has the previous eROMS can pick up either ST2 L or XL or ANY of the 28 Expansion Tank or Sonik Capsule products that come with SampleTank 2 LE. You can use ONE ST2 LE to read any of your SampleTank 1 and 2 sounds.
(so, in other words guys, if you are still an ST1 user- especially ST1 LE- then at least pick up an Expansion Tank or Sonik Capsule to get yourself the new playback engine which is superior. )
However, there are a few things that we did at the sample level on Acoustic Drums, OmniSynth, Piano Collection and Symphony Strings. For instance, Acoustic Drums has also something that can be used as either a light version kit or a GM map kit (GM by just shifting the octave down one). OmniSynth has some improved harpsichord, brass and flutes, Symphony Strings has a lot of material optimized for Stretch, Piano Collection has a few sample level tweaks... even Guitar Collection and Bass Collection have a few updates depending on when you got your original eROM.
So, to get EVERYTHING we did on the sound update you can also have the option of paying for the update disc and package at $15. each title which is very reasonable. You get the sounds only (not with the ST2 LE or it would have to be more). You have to be a verified owner of the eROM that qualifies and we may even restrict it to just esoundz customers where we can just look you up... although if you have the receipt from wherever you bought the eROM then that's good enough.
Another thing... If someone bought SS1, ST2, all of the eROMS and the SS2 upgrade then we'd probably send you the update discs for free out of appreciation for that level of support (and because the amount of sales overall gives us some room to just conveniently give you some things like this to enhance your products). Customers who buy a lot of their products from esoundz can always ask for things like that. Also, let's say you didn't buy quite all of that from esoundz but you wanted to pick up a new product there such as Sonik Synth 2 or a Sonik Capsule. If it is along with an order the sales guys are more inclined to even just throw it in along with your shipment(as long as they can verify that you are an owner of the previous version eROM).
We have really cool and reasonable customer support. They want to make you happy so you feel comfortable with the overall experience you have with esoundz

Thanks Squids,
It's clear now and all of the lights are on. I did buy all of the eRoms (that I own) from eSoundz, so I'll just wait a week or so and then download them when they're available. Thanks for clearing it up for me.
By the way...it's awfully generous of you Squids to offer the updates (to existing customers) free of charge. Their are not many companies that will update their samples for a free download. I really don't want to put any, "horrible" thoughts in your head about charging people for these updates, I just want to say...THANK YOU, for your time, effort and generosity.

Is there a GM version of all of the kits in Acoustic Drums, or just some of them?Squids wrote:However, there are a few things that we did at the sample level on Acoustic Drums, OmniSynth, Piano Collection and Symphony Strings.
