Hello,
I have been wanting to "jam" with a friend just using our laptops and Live 4. I have a pc and he has a mac.
Is there any way to keep the programs sync'ed other than just hitting the play button at the same time?
Has anyone had experience with laptop "jamming".
Thanks
Keeping multiple laptops using Live 4 in sync??

I have synced 4 laptops with live 3 ( 2 win xp, 1 osx, 1 mac 9). Just use one as the master and the others as slaves (sync to external).

I assume you mean syncing thru a midi interface, but I could use some guidance? (I have never tried midi out syncing)
Does each laptop need a midi interface or could I get away with 1 interface that has one out and one in? (Thats what i have)
I could use the laptop keyboard to play the vsti's.
Also how would I go about recording the combined audio?
- Would I link both laptops to a third computer and just record a stereo track
- Or does the midi and audio route back thru to a audio track in the master
Finally is there a way to use networking to my advatage?
- I think that some hosts allow networking to run vsti's or something
