$4.20? That's crazy. This guy just loves to give away plugins.
The plugin bundle he sold (gave away?) awhile back is certainly good enough for me to look at this new plug at any reasonable price. $4.20 is a no brainer. I reckon I won't even demo it.

I bought a license and despite the strange promotion video it sounds surprisingly good. It has a kind of smooth distortion which can be dialed in very precise. It sounds good anyway, but with 16x oversampling it is very pleasing.

Perhaps I'm not using it properly but I found this quite janky. Enabling 15ips adds an unpleasant boxy tone to the lows and low mids, and takes too much off the highs (IMO). Autogain doesn't seem to work at all. The crossover point can significantly alter the tone. The character control destroys the low end.
Not really understanding the gushing I'm seeing for this on GS but maybe I'm just a noob.

The "Blend" dial is your friend. Of course it applies a sort of EQ curve too (like real tape), but this can be heavily influenced because of the built in frequency split and the "Freq" dial.Vortifex wrote: Tue Dec 02, 2025 11:38 am Perhaps I'm not using it properly but I found this quite janky.
The plug in is good for extreme sound design and also for using it in a subtle way with small doses.
I was pleasently surprised.
