Was just curious how was this lead done most likely?


It even sounds to me like layered with some organs I don't know why.

03:11 into the remake video, I hear harmonics in the square lead, that have been eq/removed/just don't exist in the original. The original definitely has more room between the low bass and bright mids (leaving space for the sampled-kick synth thing).

Not even sure the lower oscillator is a pure square. Could also be a triangle (which is just a softer square harmonics-wise), or some mix of square/triangle/saw etc. Could be also a square like in the video, but as a separate layer (= filtered individually).

My buddy mixed a lot of Swedish House Mafia (maybe even this one). The synths in the final mixes always sounded a lot different from the original tracks, so I wouldn't worry too much about picking apart the finer details. Just find a sound in the ballpark and fix it in the mix.

I know that they used ES2’s default preset for the “rave” lead, was surprised to see that.

But then I have seen people like Armin Van Buuren, Noisecontrollers etc. using stock Logic synths.

Guess if you are so talented any synth will do the job.
