Watching some reviews I came across Paul Third & Emra discussing the Arc on ear. Their opinion was it is extremely under powered. Can anyone who has the AOE comment on this ?

Depends on the headphones, I have Audeze MM500 planar headphones@18 ohms, the Arc drives them no bother at all at one quarter the way up. So there's a real life scenario I suppose. Yes a lot of planers need a crazy amount of power to drive them, I don't know if this is possible with a USB/battery powered unit.
