I bought an ACER laptop and it does not like ASIO for All one bit. I spoke to some one in tech support (it was a chat room so maybe AI or some such) and they said "ASIO!? Never heard of it". The realtek drivers it came with do work with Ableton and other sound programs but by they are quirky to say the least. So I found an alternative called FlexASIO, Im sure its probably well known but i hadn't heard of it before. It works a treat. So if anyone else experiences a similar issue here is the link. FlexASIO is universal ASIO driver, meaning that it is not tied to specific audio hardware. This can be used for multi-client operation over ASIO4ALL since it is set to exclusive mode by default. FlexASIO permits multiple applications, e.g.other DAWs, and browsers, to share the same audio drivaer. This allows audio to run simultaneously from Live and any other applications.
This driver can be used to interface with any sound API available on a Windows system. This makes it possible to emulate a typical Windows application that opens an audio device in shared mode. Again I imagine most people already know all about it. New to me tho
