New Christmas Song feat. Avonlea Montague

Avonlea and I have produced a Christmas song for I believe the last 15 years and this year we covered Britney Spears' "My Only Wish (This Year)". This one was a lot of work and a lot of fun, with about few dozen layers of Avonlea's vocals. The music was made with Addictive Drums, a bunch of EastWest and Kontakt libraries. I played bass, synth, and guitars, except for the strumming acoustic, which was done with Pettinhouse Acoustic Strum 3 (I'm not a guitarist and can't strum that perfectly while playing Fmaj barre chords ). Thanks wagtunes! Funny thing, I had never heard this song until Avo (the biggest Britney fan on the planet) suggested it a few weeks ago and, I gotta say, by the first chorus I was already hooked. This is easily my favorite Christmas song we've done.

"My Only Wish This Year": First of all, it has to be said that the song itself—the composition
—is a really beautiful, groovy song. The cover is very well done, by both of you. Avonlea, in
particular, sings quite "Britney-like." The editing was probably a huge undertaking
nonetheless. But it turned out really well! Great song and brilliant performance/
production. I enjoy listening to this version!

Thanks enroe! Yeah, I agree about Avonlea - this was some of her best singing ever. That recording session took several hours to get all the harmonies, ad libs, oohs/aahs, etc. but her voice held up great!
