Ok..another subject

what do you guys like to use M42 with?

With the synced RYM and SEQs in M42..it sounds good with other synths that have syncing capabilities as well...like our own ARPY,or Kraklies EZ Poly. You can also try importing sample loops( beats). Cameleon RYMS sounds good with it too.

Any others off the beat ( or ON the beat ??)

I've been using it with real pianos and guitars. I usually set it in the background.

It does make alot of the my lame piano sounds come to life. I did some tracks and layered 4 intances together with effects and some nice real choirs from symphony of voices. Be..au..ti...ful....

well...it refers to the technique of triggering a SEQ or RYM ON the beat so it syncs correctly with the BPM and whatever else you got going on. It takes a bit of practice to get right...but I found if you have a lot of feedback on the delays..it doesn't matter :-)it all meshes in :-)

I also tried this technique with a song i dedicated to my mother in law a while back and it works well.

I do quite a bit of stuff where there are no drums (thats ambient then, jim), so like to use m42 to provide some rythm and movement to the music. I tend to use it with CAmeleon and Albino2 and impOSCar, which is, er, pretty much everything I have

I also use it with drums too, like in the 'southport shenanigans' tune I posted in the ol' 'what do you use m42 for' thread.

OK so I use it with everything is where this is going... :D :D :D 8) But I'd say the main thing I exploit is the rythmic nature of the beast.

I agree about the "rhythmic nature of the beast". Makes it very cool. Is it me or would it be better if the pulsar were more customizable -like an adjustable rate trance-gate?

What doesn't it go with?

I've been experimenting with layering synths in Tracktion a lot lately, and for some insanely complex, moving tones M42 + Kubik is hard to beat! M42 and Rhino make a killer stack as well, although it can get *too* dense.

Just what I've discovered so far! :hihi:

ahh..another good one: M42 and Kubik! have to try that one as the SEQ files you can sync up for some excellent moving stuff. I like Kubik a lot as well.

Rhino and M42 are another good combo.

I like to mix the M42 with acoustic drum loops & "breakbeat" style percussions. It work very well together, it sound smooth. 8)
