3RD KIND for Zebra 3 (by u-he, currently in public Beta) is a close encounter with fascinating forms of audio synthesis, resulting in a sound library containing a diverse collection of somewhat familiar sounds and unknown sonic territory which still had to be explored. The modal filters and exciters introduced in Zebra 3 were used extensively to create physically modeled instruments and textures, hundreds of single cycle waveforms were created or imported into the oscillators in order to build interesting wavetables, the additive sound engine with its vast sonic possibilities was deeply explored and the oscillator effects play a prominent role in shaping or totally transforming the waveforms.

From swirling wavetable sounds to futuristic soundscapes, from deep bass sequences with juicy filter action to fascinating experimental sounds, from warm pads and dark drones to glistening digital textures, from groovy pitch and drum sequences - also in odd time signatures - to expressive and sometimes dystopian lead sounds, 3RD KIND will give many composers of cinematic soundtracks and electronic music in general a wide palette of inspiring sonic material to play with.

All presets make extensive use of the available modulators and have the modulation wheel, up to four Macros and sometimes aftertouch assigned for direct interaction and DAW automation.
