Dear KVR Members,

We are thrilled to unveil Blue Cat's Fader Hub 1.3 "Multitrack", a significant upgrade our network mixing, streaming and recording console software available as an application and plug-in. A free update for Blue Cat's Connector, our universal connection plug-in, has been released too.

Fader Hub acts as a low latency hub and personal mixer for multiple musicians or multiple computers connected thru a network, with built-in remote multitrack recording, audio effects, third party plug-ins support, and automatic latency compensation and anticipation.

With Fader Hub 1.3, is now possible to access individual remote audio inputs instead of only stereo mixes: you can aggregate up to 128 audio channels from up to 8 different computers on a local network or thru the Internet, and even more if loading Fader Hub into itself as a plug-in. It gives direct access to individual audio streams to apply effects, mix them together, or record them locally.

In addition to this major upgrade, the new version is packed with new features: multi-touch support, recorded files synchronization, major performance improvements, new MIDI control features, many plug-ins hosting enhancements, and much more (full list below).

The Connector 1.43 free update brings a couple of improvements and fixes, as well as a few optimizations to support Fader Hub's new multitrack streaming capability (full list below).

To celebrate the launch, Fader Hub 1.3 is available at 20% discount until February 10th. Existing customers will receive an even more attractive offer via email. Demo versions of the application (and plug-in) are accessible for download on www.bluecataudio.com.

This looks really nice! If only you would make a linux native version of connector, I wouldn't need anything else to be linux native. Can't you look into it and make Connector linux native? It would solve so many problems for Linux users. :(

Well, porting a single pug-in or all of them is roughly the same effort... I was about to deep dive into X11 for the fun of it, but given the latest announcements about Wayland, it's maybe not even worth it! :dog:

Don't worry about Wayland--this is a non-problem. X11 isn't going to go anywhere. Wayland supports XWayland (a complete X11 server that runs subservient to Wayland and supports all X11 apps with no problem. As of right now, there is only one developer, out of all the developers for Linux audio that is using Wayland. That is Presonus' Studio One DAW, which is now owned by Fender, and was recently named Fender Studio One Pro. The result of their DAW supporting only Wayland means that no X11 plugins can display a GUI in their DAW, which is pretty much all of them--a real negative. X11 will be working fine with Linux using Wayland with no problem for years and years to come. :)

If you have any questions at all about Linux, I would be more than happy to help you out with how things work. The Linux world really needs your products and it would benefit everyone involved. Let me know if you would like me to get you contacts and addresses of people that can help you with Linux development.

Go here and read the developer interviews. There's a lot of useful information that could answer a lot of questions:

Edit: Here is some more information to remove your worries about the whole X11 vs Wayland thing. :)
