E-Limiter600 is a JSFX lookahead peak limiter with an accurate metering system and visual feedback. It has a fixed 1 ms lookahead and can be used for track‑level, mix bus, and master bus limiting without distortion artifacts or ceiling overshoot.
The 1ms lookahead is sufficient in this limiter because it uses an extended peak hold system (190 × 1ms lookahead) in the detection envelope. When a peak is detected, the detection envelope holds it for 190ms while the audio is delayed by 1ms. This means the main limiting envelope sees the held peak value 1ms before the actual audio arrives, allowing it to start applying gain reduction 1ms in advance. The extended 190ms hold ensures the detection envelope maintains steady peak information for the main envelope to track smoothly, preventing ceiling overshoot and distortion artifacts without needing a longer lookahead delay. The 190ms peak hold is NOT a delay of the audio signal itself; it's just how long the detection envelope remembers peaks. The 1ms latency introduced by the lookahead is reported to the DAW for automatic delay compensation.
To make the limiter catch intersample peaks or true peaks (if that's important for you), REAPER has an oversampling feature for plugins; so you can just right-click the plugin and select your oversampling choice from the "FX instance oversampling" menu. The limiter's internal processing and buffering supports sample rates even up to 768kHz, so it works perfectly with REAPER's x16 (705.6k/768k) oversampling.
You can grab it for $10. Visit the Gumroad page for a detailed list of features, and listen to an audio demo of what the plugin can do.

Hi, I'm late in posting, but I updated the plugin on 21st January, 2026.
Changelog:
1. Made GUI buttons backward compatible in older REAPER versions. As a result, the plugin graphics now compile correctly in older versions of REAPER without affecting newer versions. Also, this doesn't affect the underlying audio processing code of the plugin; the older and new version null 100% in a null test.
