The second of the new plugins from Tweakbench in 2026, Looms is a polyphonic sample slicer and beat mangler. If you've lusted after Monome Norns, this is in the same kind of direction. Load any audio file or choose from 9 built-in drum loops, then slice, sequence, and reshape it into something new. Features a variable-step sequencer with per-step pitch, gate, and reverse controls, plus an ADSR envelope with optional LPG mode for that West Coast pluck. Add movement with the multi-mode filter, stereo panning, and built-in delay/reverb. Great for chopped breaks, glitchy textures, and rhythmic sample destruction.

$10 - available here: https://www.tweakbench.com/products/looms
and all Tweakbench plugins are available in the bundle: https://www.tweakbench.com/products/tweakbench-bundle

Can you change the order of the slices and repeat a particular slice?

Looks very cool.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

The internal sequencer has loop/bounce/random playhead modes and each step has a pitch/rev/trig toggle, you can adjust number of slices dynamically. You can also disable the internal sequencer and the slices are playable via midi pianoroll. The patch randomizer also will make some really great sound beds from almost any loaded sample (which is mostly what I wrote it for) :)

Here's a 4 slice:

And a 32 slice:

So you can't resequence the slices using the built in sequencer? Just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly.

The internal sequencer is more generative than that. You can modify each step via the internal sequencer in lopping, bouncing, or random modes. If you want to trigger specific slices, you'd do that via the midi inputs to the plugin, as they are recordable in any custom format/length you want. The internal sequencer is meant to generate new and unexpected patterns, not program specific note orders.

Also worth noting that it doesnt try to find percussive transients (like a Rex player might). it slices right on the host tempo divider lines (and applies a zero crossing 5ms fade). So it sounds smooth, but this is not a breakbeat re-organizer by any means

Bought. Its really cool when it works but unfortunately it crashes both Live and Reason. Will send a support email.

yes, immediately after i upgraded to Looms 4.0.6 it crashed a BespokeSynth project that worked with the previous version (4.0.4). Very interesting plugin, definitely not a breakbeat re-arranger or a regular beat slicer, it's unique (it's Tweakbench after all), creative and the randomization works especially good in this plugin.

Anyone here using TWEAKBENCH's other plugins that can comment on them? They look interesting.

I found the race condition causing the crash. I'm implementing a fix and should have 4.0.5 published tonight! Thanks for the help.

Is the update live yet?

Still working on it. The website incorrectly says 4.0.6 is live, but I'm still getting the crashes under control.
