Family of Ukes | a song for 3D printed ukes

When I first went down the rabbit hole of designing 3D printed ukuleles more than 3 years ago, my goal was to make an instrument that I could then write and record an original song on. I had thought I was done until recently, when I saw videos of Andy's Nano Ukuleles. I had to see if I could do something similar, then actually play the thing well enough to write a song for it. Before I could do that, though, I had to rework my Mini ukulele into the Mini 2 which I posted about not too long ago.

And so, the Micro uke, a sopranissimo 3D printed ukulele was born. For this song, I wanted use the opportunity to include every uke that I've made over the years. I hope you enjoy the song, Family of Ukes! Feedback/critiques on the uke design, the song or the mix are always welcome!

Oh yes, this is a real ukulele happening: 6 tracks of ukulele, recorded almost
live in 6 different live streams! Very elaborate, but brilliantly done!

You've developed a nice, catchy riff and a beautiful melody. However – and
here's the criticism – it's only two minutes long. I thought I could indulge in
a ukulele feeling for at least ten minutes.

Overall: Excellent! Very ukulele-like!

One of the reasons it's short, is because I'm not very good at uke So I had to quit while I was ahead! Plus, I believe I heard somewhere leave your audience wanting more....

3D Printing your own ukes? That's pretty cool! Are the tuners printed by you too? Very nice song you have happening there! You might already know Greg Hawkes (from the Cars, the keyboard player; one of my favorite synth players) is into playing the ukulele.

Thanks. Yes, the tuners were designed and printed by me. They were one of the hardest parts to get right, and I am still fine tuning the design, even after a couple of years of tweaking it.

I didn't know that Greg Hawkes played ukulele. Thanks for letting me know. I did recently discover that Eddie Vedder recorded an album of ukulele songs, which was really cool!

The idea of 3D printing ukuleles is pretty cool and they actually sound good, too! I’ve seen 3D printers where that would’ve probably taken weeks, so I hope you’ve got a slightly more modern machine Your arrangement with the four (?) ukes also sounds very joyful... In my next life, I definitely need to learn how to play the uke!
