Hello all.
I'm giving Linux a try (Zorin) with Bitwig and have been encountering issues with plug-ins crashing. I've read elsewhere that the best way to install them is via .deb files. However, I am new to Linux and not sure what this entails. Eg, when I download Tal-Noizem4k3r there is no .deb file in the folder. Am I missing something?
Cheers.

This often is a combination of 'something slightly wrong' in both the host and the plugin. It's a delicate dance between the two of them.Mr_G wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 8:51 amI'm giving Linux a try (Zorin) with Bitwig and have been encountering issues with plug-ins crashing.
Best action is to contact tech support of both the host and the plugin developer. Describe as precise as you can how it can be reproduced - what exactly to do to make it crash.
https://tal-software.com/products/tal-noisemaker links to a .zip file. If you unpack that (should be easy-peasy if you have eg the DoubleCommander) you'll see it contains:Mr_G wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 8:51 amI've read elsewhere that the best way to install them is via .deb files. - a folder named TAL-Noisemaker.vst3
- a file named libTAL-Noisemaker.so
- a file named TAL-Noisemaker.clap
- a file named ReadmeLinux.txt containing this text:
Good luck!Installation
VST 2.4:
