I suppose NI's insolvency has affected us all in some way. In my case, it makes me think twice before buying software. I've always been interested in Groove Agent. I've been close to buying it several times, but for some reason, I never did.

I said this in another thread, but if you have any LE or AI version of Cubase (or buy one for $10 online) you can use Groove Agent SE 6 in any DAW. I had an old LE license which they upgraded to 15 for free (because the old authorization system is gone) after I sent them an email and now I'm using GA6SE in REAPER. Great option if you don't want to spend the big bucks on the extra features in the full version.

I own Halion but can't say I have been very impressed with the GUI or workflow, even the latest version seems dated with lots of 'windows' to work in and tiny fonts, I guess I just don't like the way they do things (but it sounds great, especially the FM). I also have way too many drum VSTS so no real interest in GA and that seems to be the main new update, I'll stick with Superior Drummer 3 for real drums, I have been very happy with it.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Thank you for this. It's an option worth considering.

I wish their upgrade would take into account all the products you own rather than just whether you have one of them. As it is this is just not worth it to me, all I’m missing is Groove Agent and Retrologue

I almost jumped immediately for the upgrade from 6 to Absolute 7.
After considering it for a bit though, I think I'll wait for a sale too.
There's not much there I'm excited about.

I've been a Cubase user since Atari ST days, Always paying for every upgrade, until now. Thousand of Euros since 1989. Cubase 15 seems less of an upgrade merely a few un-needed changes and of course excessive charges.

Has anyone tried the guitar vst, axe machina? If so, how does it compare to other similar distorted guitar vsts?

It's disappointing that Halion 7 didn't turn into 8 (after many years) with some significant updates re. extra *falcon* like features inc.. - I should think they would like to catch up a bit..7.1 is a bit of a joke .. btw.. It was always better to have the Absolute instead of any bit & pieces and then upgrade .. I had ABS since v4 and its good going but the v7 is a poor upgrade apart from scaling that they should've introduced hmm 3y ago..
