Nomad Factory Blue Tubes Updated to V4.

VST, AU, AAX, CLAP, etc. Plugin Virtual Effects Discussion

Post

Just got the news that Nomad Factory has updated the Blue Tubes plugins to version 4:

"Nomad Factory's Blue Tubes V4 bundle introduces a completely redesigned internal architecture for its 19 classic vintage-style processors, offering significantly improved audio quality, enhanced stability, and lower CPU consumption. The update features modernized interfaces, superior analog, and 64-bit compatibility for current DAWs, though it does not replace V3, allowing side-by-side use".

GUI sizes from 75% to 200% and three different skin colors.

I received free updates to the three BT plugins I purchased. I will install tomorrow and see how they sound especially the TrackBox..... :hyper:

I installed these but haven't had a chance to run them through their paces.

I do find the interfaces to be mostly a lot clearer. In some cases the sync on rates is harder to see.

I also find it odd that in the few I have looked at, there are significantly fewer presets in the newer versions and none of the presets have similar names.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

I wish theyd update Magma.

Such a sweet multi effect but also the most crash festy plugin in the history of VST. Ive amassed 20 odd years of VST-aholica and its hands down the worst for crashing within 2 minutes

But sounds amazing

free upgrade ! :D

Isn't that a Waves plugin?

good to see Nomad Factory carrying on. sure, there are plenty of newer plugins with buzz (have those too), but the upgrade is nice for those longer term (older...) projects. low cpu, robustness, sufficient quality, lack of marketing blasts/online requirement/usage tracking shenanigans.

vintage digital is the new black.

I just noticed that NF, without fanfare, seems to have 86-ed the Analog Signature Pack (EQP-4. LM-662 and SC-226). These are no longer listed in the Integral Studio Pack - it's as if they never existed. I'm kind of bummed because, next to the Retro EQs Bundle, these were the the plug-ins I was most excited to see get a Version 2 upgrade.

Nope - Waves' Magma is a series of individual single-purpose plugins... Nomad Magma is a single multi-fx/vst-chainer plugin...

if you wanted to compare it with Waves it would be more like Studiorack but with a lot of included processors (65 in total)... and it's more than ten years older than the first Waves Magma plugin.

I was helping beta test Magma right before Bernie died and it was quite buggy back then but I've long since forgotten the details.

However back on June 3rd of 2025 Eric of Plugivery had the following to say on the subject of NF updates:

"Then comes MAGMA — a beast with 65 plugins. After the work we did on the P&M V.I.P. Bundle (50 plugins), we’ve built up some great experience and momentum, but MAGMA is still a major challenge. If everything stays on track, we expect the full Nomad Factory product line to be updated by mid-2026".

So there is still hope although the timeline might be a bit optimistic. I offered to help with testing once again but never heard back so I have no further information.

But yes I'd love to see a stable and updated Magma. It is a great collection of FX in a rack. I still have the old version installed on this system but never use it these days. I just called up some random modules for the screenshot:

Maybe that's a good sign. Maybe they're about to get updated next. I have NFR copies of all three plugins in the Analog Signature Pack and would love to see them get updated as well.

Plugivery does have a forum but it's pretty quiet over there other than me bugging them for news about updates.....

Here's Eric's full post. You'll probably have to open the image in a new tab to read it due to KVR's compression:

Was close to buying Magma a few times in the past, how are the effects and utility compared to Guitar Rig?

A pleasant unexpected surprise to wake up to. Just being able to resize them on a free update is good enough for me. Instantly usable 👍

Nomad Factory Announce Blue Tubes v4 wrote:A quick word about the bigger Nomad Factory picture

For the past several years, we’ve been quietly modernizing the entire Nomad Factory catalog. It has taken time because we chose to rebuild products properly instead of applying quick compatibility patches.

All products currently listed on the Nomad Factory Website are now fully 2026 compliant and compatible with current operating systems and DAWs. Products that were not ready have been temporarily discontinued until they are fully upgraded.

Blue Tubes v4 is an important milestone in that process.
