Before I share my prompts just a little background. I've been writing songs since the late 70s and when I say writing I mean literally writing lyrics with either pen or pencil in a notebook. I've also never used a rhyming dictionary. Firstly, all of the prompts that I come up with, and that I'm sharing here, are thought up by me. I don't use LLMs to generate prompts. The first one I'll share is actually quite simple and short:

 Prompt 1 :Medium tempo rock/pop song about consumerism

And here are the lyrics it gave me:

[Chorus]
Buy, buy, everything you see
Buy, buy, is this the key
To happiness in things?
Oh, what joy it brings

[Verse 2]
They sell the dream and watch it fade
A million voices that persuade
We lose ourselves in the endless chase
In this endless consumer rat race

[Pre-Chorus]
Empty shelves and empty hearts
Running faster but falling apart
Searching for something real and true
But the answer isn't in what we accrue

[Chorus]
Buy, buy, everything you see
Buy, buy, is this the key
To happiness in things?
Oh, what joy it brings

Another prompt was inspired by the Joe Walsh song "Life's Been Good" which is basically about recklessness and irresponsibility. Here's the prompt:

 Prompt 2: Rock song about an irresponsible rock guitarist who thinks he can do whatever he wants to do

It gave me some humourous lines as well. Here are some of them

"One shoe lost sometime last night
Maybe it’s gone for good this time
Rules on a napkin, tossed and torn
Cold pizza breakfast, same old song

Broken bones from broken rules
Borrowed dreams, borrowed tools
Never learned a single lesson
But I make my own confession"

Here's the last one for now. I came up with this one on Sunday evening.

 Prompt 3: Mid 1990s moderate tempo rock song about a famous man reminiscing about his earlier, simpler days when he was just a regular person and didn't have people bothering him because of his fame

So feel free to use any of these prompts if you like. Also feel free to alter them or add to them and I hope that we can share some more prompts in this thread. I have plenty more. :)

Just following up on my first post which was more lyrics and music based, here are some instrumental prompts I've used. Once again, anybody is free to use or alter these.

Prompt 1:  slow melodic classical piano with sparse string accompaniment and a light Beethoven influence

Prompt 2:  early 1970's Santana-esque latin/rock electric mid tempo guitar instrumental

Prompt 3:  instrumental incidental music from an early 1930s film

Don't be afraid to reply or comment folks. :)
