Post

Hey everyone,

I just released Arponaut, a free pattern-based arpeggiator VST. You can find it on my webiste:

https://groovemusicindustries.com/

What makes it different from other pattern-based arps is the workflow: it has two editable sections:
- Pattern section (the usual arp pattern lane)
- Chords section (a dedicated chords lane you can also edit)
This opens up routing/workflows that standard “pattern-only” arpeggiators don’t really allow.

Depending on how you route MIDI from your DAW, you can:
- Route MIDI into the Pattern lane,
- Route MIDI into the Chords lane,
- Dont' use MIDI in DAW and edit both in plugin

It’s designed for creative exploration and “happy accidents”, to get arpeggios and musical ideas you probably wouldn’t have written manually.

A short tutorial to get you started:

Feedback, bug reports, and ideas are very welcome.

Thanks for checking it out! :ud:
Greetings,
Ambroos

Thank you for the reply. I'm looking into it. For me it works on 4G + wifi on multiple browsers so no idea why that happens. Other people having this issue?

If so, while i try to fix it:

Had it also in one browser, rebooted my server and for me it's fixed now.

Ok this seems to be a funny one lol. It appears to me that the IP address of the site visitor matters.
Initially I had a IP from the U.S. and that's not working (like in the screenshot). When I'm switching to IPs from Europe (tested Italy, Germany and Belgium) I can reach the website. Later I was testing Japan and that's not working, just like with the U.S. address.
Apparently something is blocking access from certain regions. But of course I got no real clue if it's only happening on my end. If you got a VPN at hand you could possibly test it yourself.

oops I didn't see your post while I was typing mine, will quickly test it again with U.S. IP address

EDIT: nope, site still not loading when using a IP from the States :ud:

EDIT 2: I'm out of time and will check again tomorrow

Your site works fine for me in Canada.

Today I get access to the site with IPs from North America (USA, CAN) and Europe.
No access with IPs from Asia (i.e. Japan), Africa (i.e. South Africa) or South America (i.e. Brazil, screenshot below substitutional for all)

No idea what this is about and it's not really a problem for me, but there might be quite a number of folks who can't reach the website. Just to make you aware of it.
Also, itch spits out a warning before downloading:

Had only a very short testdrive with Arponaut, seems to be fun.
Though I was almost instantly searching for a dark mode lol 8)
Had a look at the .vst3 if it's possible to alter the GUI, but apparently there aren't any resources baked into it.

Thank you for the info, I look into it this evening. I tried with a vpn on several countries and couldn't recreate the problem. If I can't fix it I'll move it to Cloudflare I guess, maybe my own VPS is untrustworthy in some regions. I'll also check with itch.io why this warning shows up. Good point of the darkmode. I'll add it in the next update.

Working fine from Chile

It could be some security mechanism by the service provider, in order to prevent attacks from "suspicious" (VPN) addresses.
As long as not more people are reporting problems OP can probably leave things as they are.

Interesting concept but since there are no instructions for Cubase, I don't have the patience to try to figure out how to use it. I do wish you luck with it though.

Didn't your previous version (Sequarp) load as a a MIDI FX? I remember it working pretty well and effortlessly. I'm not having any luck with Arponaut.
