There are so many VSTs named 'Verb.' What are you going to do about that? And there are so many plugins named the same —are you going to identify them all individually

so manu vst whit the name verb :D what are you going to do about it so many spay whit ht ename fresh air are you going to call them all?
There’s a difference between a generic concept like (re)verb and what’s likely already registered as a trademark in relation to audio / software like “fresh air”…

Anyway, by your reasoning you could call it “Windows” then, since that’s what people open when thet want some fresh air… I bet no mega software corporation would complain…

Edit: I try to be constructive: it’s not just a problem of trademarks (that’s between you and the trademark owner), but using the same name of an existing product makes your product to be perceived as “cheap” (in the negative way of “cheap”) before even looking at it. When this happens, I usually ignore the product and the company completely… and I bet I’m not the only one. You’re doing a disservice to yourself, really.

Anyway, it’s not my problem, it’s not my business…

Interestingly, the other plugin listed on their Gumroad page seems to be called 'AIR EQ4' when Air EQ is -also- the name of an existing plugin.

To the OP: do seriously consider renaming. All it takes is one cease and desist letter to Gumroad over trademark or 'passing off' and your stuff will be gone from there.

And yet the Gumroad page specifically refers to it only as 'Fresh Air,' doing so about ten times.

Man, people are really tripping over a name. If you don't like it, just don't use it. It's free, after al am not going to change it

I wouldn’t say people are tripping over the name. I think they are genuinely just trying to save you from potential lawsuits. All it would really take is for slate to take notice and your plugin that you probably invested massive hours into will be for absolutely nothing. I would genuinely urge you to consider a more original name and save yourself a massive headache later on. Just a friendly suggestion, but you’re more than welcome to do as you please.

When you get f**ked over by lawyers, remember I said so.
