Hello KVR! We’ve just released MIDI Memories, a plugin to records events, capturing MIDI effects as editable regions.

Add MIDI Memories at any point in a track’s MIDI effects chain to capture events. It’s like bouncing or freezing your MIDI effects! Want to expand an arpeggio into individual notes? Easy. Want to use a plugin to trigger chords from single keys, then expand the chords into editable regions? MIDI Memories can do just that.

If you’ve used plugin automation, that will also be recorded. Just insert MIDI Memories after the plugins you’d like to record and press play.

MIDI Memories keeps the last five recordings, so it doesn’t matter if you bump play again after recording something you’d like to keep. Drag the recording icon into the arrange window and the region will appear. Or, drag it to your desktop to create a MIDI file.

Chord recogniser

Play a chord and MIDI Memories will tell you the chord’s name. MIDI Memories features a resizable plugin interface, so the chord’s name can be visible from across the room, if you’d like.

Scale guesser

Hold some notes and MIDI Memories will list the scales and modes that match them. This lets you find pleasing harmonies first, then discover a scale or mode that fits.

MIDI Memories is available as VST3 and Audio Unit. We have setup guides for Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Reaper, and Bitwig. It’s currently on sale for $19 USD + tax (normally $29).
