I hate to be negative but I don't need another drum enhancer. With Arturia Mix Drums, Ohmicide, Waves stuff and so much more - this plugin seems late, unnecessary, and redundant.
What I REALLY WANT is a probability sequencer that actually works well with 3rd party drum plugins. Something that recognizes the difference between kick, snare, hi hat and toms and creates good grooves and fills. I've tried almost every sequencer out there and none provides a good approach for 3rd party drums groove creations.
Ironically, XLN XO provides a pretty good drum sequencer but it's a pain in the butt trying to get it to work with third-party plug-ins and it doesn't let you use more than eight slots.
So XLN, if you're listening, I'd be overjoyed if you would concentrate on making a dedicated drum sequencer where you can drag and drop notes for third party drum plug-ins like ew prodrummer or modo drums and quickly adjust velocity and rolls and things like that, while also providing a meaningful randomized option that actually creates drums grooves that sound good.

Unless this plug-in is going to miraculously create pleasing dynamics I've never heard before and make my drums sit perfectly in my mix I really don't see the point. Highly doubt I'm even going to try it. My rant is aimed mostly at XLN and all the other developers that seem so out of touch with what users really want. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if xln next releases their own emulation of an Oberheim SEM. Either way, I'll stop hijacking this thread and crawl back in my troll hole. I think I've made my point.

Absolutely will. Looks good as well!
I have both RC-20 and DS-10 and I don’t see any direct value in a plugin like this when I do more or less the same with those two already.
So I wonder if they still will be updated after DB-30 becomes a hit. Which I have very little doubt it will as XLN stuff tends to be superb.

I’m sure it sounds good. Still, this is the kind of thing that NI and other companies do that generates so much backlash and negativity- release a product that sounds great but has fundamental limitations, ignore your users, and just keep pumping out iterative plugins rather than listening to users and optimizing what buttered your bread to start with. And even if it does sound good, this is the epitome of an iterative plugin.

Completely agree. I think most XLN users would have been better served with an update to XO that increased the number of sample slots and gave you real time midi out so you could use it with 3rd party drum plugins.oobesan wrote: Mon Mar 30, 2026 9:16 pm And even if it does sound good, this is the epitome of an iterative plugin.

Sounds buttery, perhaps a bit bummy.
