For decades, engineers have relied on level differences to assess processing, despite well-known evidence that even minimal gain variations can significantly alter perception and lead to inconsistent conclusions. In practice, louder signals are often perceived as better, regardless of the actual processing applied, often with a surprising degree of confidence.

CINNABAR was developed around a straightforward objective: to allow full control over signal level, while ensuring that such control does not ultimately influence the final evaluation.

This is achieved through an intentionally overengineered gain architecture designed to make level both fully adjustable and, when required, completely irrelevant.

Key features
  • Autogain function
Compensates for output gain introduced by processing, maintaining the same peak and loudness levels as the input signal. Regardless of previous adjustments. Always.
  • 256-bit gain resolution
Ultra-high precision control, exceeding any realistic requirement by a comfortable margin.
  • Advanced oversampling engine
Selectable from 1x up to 32768x, depending on how far you’d like to take it.
  • Carefully calibrated presets
A wide range of curated presets, each designed to offer a slightly different approach to the same result.

Harmonic integrity

The architecture introduces no harmonic distortion under any condition, with total harmonic distortion effectively reduced to zero. The output signal remains virtually identical to the input, ensuring complete transparency, even when there is nothing to add.

Phase coherence

CINNABAR preserves a perfectly linear phase response, keeping all frequency components time-aligned throughout the signal path. The result is phase accuracy that remains indistinguishable from the original source signal.

Linear frequency response

CINNABAR maintains a perfectly linear frequency response across the audible spectrum, with no emphasis or attenuation at any point. The original tonal balance is preserved with a level of accuracy that is, in practice, indistinguishable from not processing the signal at all.

Jeez, it's like AA is now releasing a new plugin every other day. Not a great direction imo...

Am I the only one who's tired of these April 1st joke plugin releases?

I feel like I have a good (albiet very dark) sense of humor, but this trend stopped being funny over a decade ago.
