Hey all, I'm the developer of 4TRK, a lo-fi cassette 4-track recorder
emulation modeled after the Tascam Portastudio 424.

mk.gee runs everything through a Tascam 424. Reverb, chorus, delay,
all saturated on tape. That was the starting point for this plugin.

Real preamp saturation, wow & flutter, tape hiss, print-through,
dropouts. Everything that makes cassette tape sound like cassette tape.

Launch sale: 40% off. $14 (normally $24)

VST3, AU, Standalone. Windows and macOS.

Happy to answer any questions about the DSP or design.

Sorry to hijack... Does your chorus pedal plugin do vibrato at 100% wet? (Maybe my question will help boost this thread. 😁)

This developer isn't going to win any awards for responding to questions here. As a Waveform user, I should perhaps find it perversely endearing.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Just wanted to chime in and give my semi neutral/positive experience with this dev. They released that "Shoegaze" style amp sim called "Roomtone" which I bought maybe 6 months ago. But the product download didn't include an actual ".vst3" file which sucks because that's the only thing I can run in Cubase/Windows 10. I tried to contact them for months as well in the announcement thread here and no response, so I wrote it off as a lost cause. Then about a month ago they finally responded to my support email and said it was fixed and it was actually fixed and I really like the plugin now that I can use it. So for whatever reason they are extremely slow to respond to anything but their amp sim plugin actually sounds good. I'm interested in this one but based on my previous experience I don't know if I will chance it. I don't like non-responsive devs.

Well, this could be right up my alley. Assuming it does what it claims with convincing quality, the price is certainly right!

I miss some example with other instrument (or submixes) that uses also other instruments than guitars, don't you think so too ?

the account says last active april 10th... so if the support would be faster normally then ok, maybe they are just not very active on here?

"I'll be happy to answer your questions" followed by no return. This is spam in the guise of a conversation!

I'm a sucker for these types of plugins, and the UI looks nice enough I wanted to try it. I don't see a demo available, and I've learned the hard way there's usually a reason for that. (And the author's disappearance implies the same.)

I don't want to make a false accusation, but we've been warned that any day now AI slop plugins will begin to appear.

The way to counter that concern is to actually participate when spamming your product to your potential audience.

Eddie, the Kiive Audio dev is great about that. Or the Sononym dev who runs a subreddit and interacts with customers there.

That's the way to stand out as a boutique developer. Anyhow, hopefully this guy comes back.

Make a demo available, you have so many potential sales here!

I just got the Ampsim and 4Track emulation. Initial impression is they seem really great for my needs (getting a retro indie vibe)!

I don't get the impression that they're AI slop.

They seem quality to me.

(However, I'm not getting a timely response to my e-mail, so, judging from what else was said here, the developer may be a bit "reclusive"?)
