Sidechain Dynamic EQ with TotalEQ MK2 in Logic Pro

I have not been successful in getting a sidechain dynamic EQ setup with TotalEQ MK2 in LogicPro. The dynamic EQ seems to be triggered internally even when I choose a sidechain channel in the upper right corner of the plugin and select the source for the dynamic EQ as 'external'. The plugin doesn't seem to be recognizing the external trigger.

I would appreciate any help on getting this setup. Thanks!
