meh. update prices still absurd and don't make sense imo..
i'm sure it's a nice update to RX12 but can't see spending any money w/any NI related companies until their financial issues are resolves. zero faith that it'll all work out in the user's favor in the long run.
hoping things do work out as it'd be nice to have all these things around in the long run. nothing pulling me towards updating any time soon though. (in this economy!)

Interestingly enough. On the previous version, in the bottom corner it had both the izotope AND native instruments logos. Now on RX12, the native instrument logo has been removed. Possibly izoptope somehow broke from native instruments?dayjob wrote: Wed Apr 29, 2026 6:29 pm meh. update prices still absurd and don't make sense imo..

I used to upgrade the standard edition but doubt I will move past v10. No multitrack and not really good value at the upgrade price of -50%
buy my entire discography for $1 https://apondinthestream.bandcamp.com/

I'm not typically one to complain about price but $1,200 for the Advanced version without a discount is... we'll let's just say I just ran across an advert for it reading "Does your audio sound cheap? Here's how to fix it in 30 seconds" and I wondered if that's just how long their checkout process is.

would be cool to enhance/upgrade the de-click modules? i have sometimes strange artifacts in audio but no Module helps, maybe I just use them wrong then but some bumping or lofi clicks I cannot get rid of.

I broke down the updates in the following categories
Rebalance
[NEW] Scene Rebalance
[IMPROVED] Music Rebalance
[NEW] Music Rebalance real-time plugin
De-Bleed
[REBUILT] De-bleed
[NEW] De-bleed real-time plugin
Misc
[IMPROVED] Dialogue Isolate
[NEW] Trim Silence
[REBUILT] Breath Control
Dialogue Contour
[NEW] Stems View
Thoughts
Rebalance - Don't use this
De-Bleed - The old one left a lot of artifacts. Good that they worked out a new version, but just don't have a need for this right now either
Misc - Ok, this may be things some people are looking for but not me
I'm on RX10 advanced. With my loyalty pricing of $399 for advanced, maybe I'd be better off getting Spectralayers. But NI with their issues makes this a hard pass

I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

The Scene and Music Rebalance isn't that bad actually. Though, the trouble with any stem separation tool is being able to accurately identify the sounds. Thats something none of the solutions seem to be 100% at.
Though with the new stem view iZotope has given us a tool toffee tune our results, albeit with a little bit of elbow grease. Hopefully they will provide us with some more convenient editing features to streamline the workflow in the near future.
Until then this is the process I figured out...

Until then this is the process I figured out...
- Manually select across all lanes where you need top make an edit
Click on the track header so that only the track you want to remove audio from is highlighted
Use Cmd/Ctrl+X to Cut audio from that lane (its alright as the timing of everything else is still preserved)
Now without removing your selection, click on the track header until your destination lane is highlighted
Use the Paste Special > Mix function (Shift+V), if there is no shortcut assigned create with one yourself
Rinse & Repeat

I'm still on 9. I will not pay for an RX Advanced update again until they fix their outrageous prices. The single worse cost/value proposition in audio. I move to Spectralayers Pro a few years ago, and haven't regretted it.

I'm also not upgrading from RX10 Advanced, which is flanked by Spectralayers, Accentize, Cedar, Acon etc.
I have no use for stem separation and all the other 'improvements'. What I need is a solid restoration solution, especially for voice, with improved and user trained click removal in speech etc.
The pricing is absurd and looks desperate.
That said, RX Advanced IS one of the best audio apps ever.
