I know, both right?

I use a daw with plugins like Omnisphere 3, Zebra 3, Dune 3, etc, and have the Muse as hardware. Looking to add a desktop hardware synth and I really like the sound of the Artemis and TEO5.
MAKE ANALOG GREAT AGAIN 😊 🎹 🇺🇸

Teo5! It has lots of interesting sounds, powerful and easy to learn.

In case you haven’t seen this video from yesterday at Superbooth ‘26:

That’s a pretty substantial and long-awaited update for the Artemis.

As a past/present owner of both (had a TEO-5 keys and Artemis, just got a desktop last week), I’d personally find the TEO-5 to be more complementary to a Muse than the Artemis would be, based primarily on the SVF filter and overall tone and design. The TEO-5 sounds exactly like what it is - a modern Oberheim. Artemis is structured more like a Moog or Prophet. Both of them sound amazing and have excellent on-board effects. I’d say the TEO-5 is probably a little more hands-on/less menu-divy, especially with the upcoming Artemis update, which buries more modulation in the menus. TEO-5 also just got updated with poly chaining (if you ever decide that you want two units for 10 voices) and some really cool new arp patterns. If you’re into arps like me, there’s no contest - TEO-5’ arp features destroy Artemis’. If you like desktop editors/librarians, you can buy one from Soundtower for TEO-5, but there’s no official one for Artemis. Lastly, TEO-5 desktop is on sale and cheaper than the Artemis. Overall, I think the TEO-5 wins in almost every category, except for sound, which is totally subjective and they both sound amazing IMO. They’re both excellent synths for the money.

TEO-5 needs more voices for those signature Oberheim pads, so consider getting two and polychaining them.

Either way, keep your receipt! I bought a TEO-5 and found out it had stray voltage going from the expression input keeping me from using a petal. While the screen on my Artemis died on the third day I had it :dog:
They both sound great, but they are fundamentally different synths. I loved the way Artemis can pair its voices to create stereo pads with great effects. TEO-5 seems like all sweet spots with its lovely filters, it's a synth-lover's synth.

I would buy a Korg Prologue and effects from Sinevibes.
