Apisonic Speedrum 2 and Renoise Redux.

Just to put a third, I'm saying Hive 2 but that is more aspirational, I don't spend enough time in that sequencer, but admire the presets and soundsets I have that are percussion and rhythm based.
REAPER + Davinci Resolve Pro on Manjaro KDE. Neve 88m. Focusrite 18i20 2nd gen. Neumann NDH30 headphones. Mics: Telefunken TF39, AT4050, Miktek C7e, EV RE-15. VSTs: u-he Hive 2, F'em, Renoise Redux, Apisonic Speedrum 2.

What I meant was drum machines that play patterns. Not just samples. Should have been more clear about that. The 3 I mentioned are definitely vst instruments. They just have built in arps.

Stylus RMX

The latter mainly use for loops because they are so easy to mangle and adjust, but I often reach for their sample library stuff too.

For real drums, Superior Drummer 3 - I occasionally use their electronic stuff too.

In terms of sheer quality of its electronic drum samples, Maschine 2/3 is miles ahead. It just has a super clunky workflow.

In terms of workflow for sequencing and well-balanced drum kits it's either XLN XO or triaz for me.
