There doesn't seem to be a thread about UNMASK, yet. So here we go

Hmm, reading through other posts, people seem to be a bit tired of TBT, but this seems original

I actually started my search for these kinda plugins, because I didn't wanted to pay for Soothe 2 :)

Whatever the market will bear. Simple economics. I don't see a problem with that.

This one seems very interesting.

Bonus: No iLok and only $59 intro price? This is for me.

Purchased.

It seems to me Unmask and Soothe are completely different tools doing different tasks, as shown in the Unmask video? More on the side of what Voxengo's TEOTE, Apulsoft's Apunmask or Soundtheory's Gullfoss are trying to do, broader tonal masking and balance.

TBTs own Speccraft is doing closer to what Soothe does with multi band resonance handling.
I do agree TBT does compete with own products with overlap.

Yup, I'm aware. But you could put all of these under "smart/dynamic EQ tools". I wanted an advanced dynamic resonance suppressor in the beginning, but now I'm not so sure anymore :)

Still, these tools are interesting to me. I'm doing experimental stuff with intense dynamic changes and do a lot of spontaneous live recordings and want something that can improve tonal balance and enhance clarity fast.

I'm quite successful with the DERES Plugin already as my "resonance-killing footsoldier". So, UNMASK might be the one to add. I already use Zynaptiq Punch with great success, for rhythm/impact based sounds.

So, maybe UNMASK and DERES first for cleanup/separation and PUNCH after for impact restoration could be something I vibe with

Honestly, I am loving this Unmask plugin.

I think some people might be sleeping on this one a little bit and ought to check it out & jump on the intro discount deal while they can, if they decide they like it.

This seems like it could be a great Gullfoss alternative (without the iLok LM requirement.)

I feel Unmask may become one of my go-to favourites. And I already own a few other similar plugins, like: DSEQ3, TEOTE, apUnmask, Wavesfactory Equalizer and Techivation's products.

That, along with my other oeksound Soothe-alternative plugins, like SpecCraft, Smooth Operator Pro, Pro-Q 4.

Are there any interesting plugins I'm missing here, that are worth trying out? (non-iLok plugins only)

I`m a big TBTech fanboy. But very hesitant on this one. (since i just stretched my budget already)

so is this more meant for whole mixes or as well suited for single signals ?

I really wonder where this one comes to sit exactly ?

my usecase is single instrument patches only. live play. striving for the best possible ....and ever better and better...... sound. With very exorbitant live-play FX stuff in place.

So far i had a hard time to "understand" or "to feel" SpecCraft.
While i find the resonant peak part of Future-MB very crucial. It adds alots to it, and makes it totally stand out to me. (edit: but it`s CPU heavy. I sometimes just don`t have enough cPU left)

But this one, where does it sit ?
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.
