Hi all
Anyone know of any decent dsp guitar amps in the line of a Fishman Loudbox or Acus? I've used the Tim Henson Neural but not after the piezo sound so much. Loads of options for electric guitars so happy with the neural dsp stuff for that but I mainly play acoustic and struggling to find a really top notch one.
Thanks

In what way are you planning to use it? Just my opinion, but an acoustic amp is, to me, a necessary evil for live playing, not an essential (or even desirable) part of the acoustic guitar recording chain. I think the idea is to capture the sound of the guitar as naturally as possible.

I think there are two main ones: SSL Acoustifier and Nembrini Audio Acoustic Voice Pro (for Nembrini there’s a 80% off code going around for this weekend).
Both have a preamp section and some included FX but mainly they aim to change the piezo sound of acoustic guitars so that they sound closer to microphone recordings, probably using IR technology.

This. A good mic/preamp and some compression and you should be good to go.morelia wrote: Sun May 24, 2026 8:56 am In what way are you planning to use it? There's bound to be nam captures floating around. Also, maybe a speaker/cab ir can get you the sound you want?
Positive Grid has acoustic amp emulations in their Spark amps, so I imagine they have them in the Bias plugin.

I confirm. I use BIAS X with my electric, bass and acoustic guitars, it does all of them.Cuauhtli wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 1:57 am Positive Grid has acoustic amp emulations in their Spark amps, so I imagine they have them in the Bias plugin.
There are 4 amp sims choices in BIAS for acoustic guitar, with a range of tonality.
I'm pretty happy with them, and it sounds gorgeous with a touch of chorus and reverb.
If I use compression after, I tend to not use the BIAS X reverb, first load a Molotok or 1176 , then use a send to my reverb, usually a UAD L224, or the Shift Line Astronaut for beautiful long lush reverbs。
There is a fantastic free version which I mentioned there and highly recommend :

I seem to recall the acoustic "ampsims" in Positive Grid products are not amp sims. Just a recording chain. There is a preamp and some sort of spatial thing going on but there are no acoustic amps being simulated. Happy to be proven wrong but I've never seen anything to the contrary.

Well, one of the amp models in the Spark is the Fishboy amp (Fishman Acoustic) and the other three are PG originals.morelia wrote: Mon May 25, 2026 7:18 pm I seem to recall the acoustic "ampsims" in Positive Grid products are not amp sims.
