This would be nice, although I guess it's complicated: when I add someone to my 'foes' list, their responses to any thread I might look at are blocked, as I'd expect. However, if somebody else quotes them in a response to one of my 'foes' post, I can see the blocked post again. Which is kind of frustrating. So it would be nice to 'block' someone, including when someone else quotes them.
I wouldn't ask, but there are more and more (what I'd call) 'spammers' disrupting some of the threads here, and it's becoming more and more of a nuisance.

I assume it is 'complicated' as well, but it would be really nice. I personally don't care for the "friend or foe" designation, and would prefer a simple "ignore" button. A few too many (relatively new) aspiring rebel-martyr trolls, just pushing buttons over-and-over-and-over to get a response, so they can be demeaning, condescending, or in some manner hyper-critical towards the non-compliant respondent, repeatedly exposing their shallowness, and well ensconced vainglorious-ity. The thumbs down needs to be brought back too.
I know it upset some, but I would hope it would make people consider what they are about to post rather than just shoot off irrelevant noise.

Not going to happen. Not soon anyway. Quoting as it is now just injects a bunch of text/markup into the reply. (Which can be edited/faked etc). It would have to change to being the entire full quoted post (no editing down) with user name etc. followed by the reply as a separate post. Then the system could hide the quoted post as normal. Now, when someone quotes the quoted post? oh dear. lol
