If things get too complicated, i get bored.
I have a very low treshold for that and give up on it and goes back to Cakewalks inbuilt step sequenser.
But, those that like to change settings in absurdum..there's lot of that.
.
PS. I also get bored like that with synths so no OSC for me.

I hear you. This kind of thing isn't for everybody. I'm a mad scientist so I love this stuff.Saffran wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 2:07 pm If things get too complicated, i get bored.

I like it a lot. I think it's pretty easy to get something interesting out of it.

would rather see a max of 32 steps..but it is what it is.

Pattern chaining provides a way to get sequences longer than 16 steps.exmatproton wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 3:15 pm Jup..lovely sequenceswould rather see a max of 32 steps..but it is what it is.

Yeah..so..i still would like to see 32 steps per pattern. Way easier to edit 21/16 with 32 steps for instance if it is on one pageToneCarver wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 3:31 pmPattern chaining provides a way to get sequences longer than 16 steps.exmatproton wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 3:15 pm Jup..lovely sequenceswould rather see a max of 32 steps..but it is what it is.

Stepic is awesome, especially appreciate how it sequences CCs and how you can export everything including Note Values and CCs as standard MIDI files
For extra fun use stepic to send notes to Harmony Bloom

Looks great, but doesn't (yet) support Linux.

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Used to use it a lot but have mostly just program MIDI in separate DAW tracks. But I still find it very useful on occasion for hat or percussion loops.
Not sure there's a better sequencer out there for drums, aside from maybe Triaz, which is kind of a different animal.

The best overall step editor. I've had it for over 2 years. Works well with hardware, too. For basic arps I may use the stock Bitwig plugin, but for anything beyond that I turn to Stepic.

Super fun step sequencer. I often enjoy working with step sequencers over piano rolls for loop based material. I have the 512 Vector which I prefer, so I don't use Stepic much but it's a great plug-in for this kind of stuff.

If I could make Stepic and Logic Pro's Step Sequencer get busy make a baby together, I would be a happy dude.vitocorleone123 wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 7:05 pm The best overall step editor. It seems like it would be an interesting product to use.
I just keep reading it the wrong way: Septic
