Like our other Riffage libraries, Riffage: Classic Rock is built around looped phrases recorded in 4 unique keys, in pools of 3 tempo (80bpm, 120bpm, 160bpm) so you can build a complete track from scratch or fit them into an existing production.
It's incredibly simple to use and get fantastic results with. You don't even need an amp sim: besides a clean (DI) signal, we've included six amped channels to choose from, all based on classic tones of the era. All double-tracked for that gorgeous stereo width.
You can see & hear it in action in our tutorial:
Content Breakdown
The library contains 300 unique phrases written and performed by guitarist Patrick Windsor - 100 at 80bpm, 100 at 120bpm, and 100 at 160bpm. Each phrase has been recorded in 4 keys: E, G, A#, and C#, making them usable in any key with a minimum of pitch-shifting. Also, each phrase has been double-tracked and painstakingly seamlessly looped.
The phrases are helpfully tagged in the instrument's Phrase Browser so you can quickly filter, preview, and narrow down to find the perfect one for your track. For example, you can filter by 'type' (Riff, Lick, Rhythm, Lead), by tempo, by style (Powerchords, Stops, Steady, Swing), etc.
All of the above also come in WAV file form so you can use ALL of that content without Kontakt if you prefer!
There are also 9 single-note articulations which can be used to end a phrase at exactly the right time... or simply played back like any multi-sampled instrument! These articulations are:
* Single note sustain
* Powerchord sustain
* Single note palm mute
* Powerchord palm mute
* Slides down (fast/slow)
* Powerchord slides down (fast/slow)
* Single note vibrato sustain
Amp Tones / FX
The library has the DI (clean) signal so you can apply any external FX you want using your favorite plugins (like perhaps our Shreddage Amps or Deputy Distortion!) but we also have SIX re-amped signals to choose from: Plex, Mark II, Brit AC, Tweed, Prince, and Watts. These are NOT using built-in Kontakt FX - these are actual, unique recordings.
All of these are accessible in the FX page of the instrument where you can mix and match, as well as access any of Kontakt 7's incredible FX from analog-style EQs to compressors, shimmer reverb, saturators, tape delay, and much more.
